I was able to obtain today a copy of the Office of Administrative Hearings ruling on HDCC’s protest of the bid award to Goodfellow Brothers to widen Queen Kaahumanu highway between Kona Int’l Airport and Kealakehe Parkway.I also found out that the HDOT has decided to start a new bidding process for phase II (letters to Goodfellow,HDCC,Kiewit) that will run concurrently with an appeal of the OAH decision to First Circuit Court.
Hawaii247 reported yesterday that you can submit comments about the partially opened Hokulia bypass here.
The April 29, 2009 hearing in the Hokulia bypass litigation has been moved up to April 17. The court granted the Coupe’s ex parte motion to expedite this hearing dealing with statutory damages/attorney fees not claimed.
I was at work today in Kailua-Kona. However I didn’t feel the 5.0 magnitude earthquake that happened today.
Howard Dicus brokedown Hawaii’s airlift capacity numbers. It is certainly very interesting to see that the overall numbers are only down 1.1% from 2008.
Andrew Cooper wrote up a good commentary about the BLNR accepting the Mauna Kea Comprehensive Management Plan.
Lastly, the Lingle administration filed a motion for reconsideration with the Hawaii Supreme Court to reverse its decision invalidating Act II.Which forced the Hawaii Superferry to leave Hawaii.

Wow, obviously Linda Lingle thinks that the
TitanicHawaii Superferry will be able to come back!I don’t think that is going to happen anytime soon.
Now I have a perfect example how you could have made this headline shorter.
Your Earthquake coverage my as well have been left out of the headline! I was expecting some big “Update”… Instead it was a dud!
