Hat tip to Damon Tucker for pointing out this comment on Poinography made by Hawaii County’s Public Relations Specialist, Hunter Bishop.

“Anyway, since becoming county public relations specialist in December, I and others have been designing a new site that should address your concerns and be online sometime this month.”

This absolutely great news that Hawaii County will be getting a new website. Thus the existing (and antiquated) website can be retired.

Howard Dicus wrote up an excellent commentary here about the economically turbulent 2008. On top of that he wrote up a list of things economically to watch for in 2009.

The Hawaii County DPW asphalt tackcoat debacle continues.According to this WHT article,HMP Inc is preparing to sue Hawaii County for violating procurement regulations and breach of contract if they don’t get a satisfactory response from Hawaii County by the end of the month.

Lastly, I found out after the traffic signal is activated below Malulani Gardens in February 2009 the south end of Hale Kapili Street will be opened shortly thereafter.

In another comment at the same post, Bishop playfully mentions the “blog pile” effect. I am beginning to see his point, haha. You’re blogging about Damon, who is blogging about me, etc. Now I’m commenting and completing the circle… :)

Calling all Blogs for an official Blog Pile!

I suspect Hunter was also making a play on the phrase “dog pile.”

Well, I’m not that optimistic. Creating a new website is a good first step, but getting the department heads to keep it current will be near impossible. I’d like to be proven wrong here, but unless Billy Kenoi says “You WILL keep the information current, it won’t happen.
