I found this interesting posting the detailed the signal coverage from the Ulupalakua (Maui) DTV transmitter site.
Hawaii County has decided to delay the construction of the Lako Street extension. It is absolutely ridiculous that these landowners (John Kobayashi,Charles & Joan Coupe) are stalling construction of these much needed roads (Hokulia bypass,Lako Street extension). In the case of the Lako Street extension, it is especially needed to be built or Ali’i Parkway will be 45 million dollar cul-de-sac.
The Hawaii County Council selected a new council chairman. J Yoshimoto was tapped to lead the council replacing Pete Hoffmann.I strongly feel despite this amicable transition the next two years should be full of a lot of drama.
Lastly, both Target and Safeway confirmed their plans to build new stores in Hilo. This is absolutely good news for the residents of East Hawaii. Now you won’t be at the mercy of Wal-Mart. This proposal is also good for DHHL who’ll get much needed additional lease income to open up more Hawaiian homestead lands. However, I’m not sure if there is adequate infrastructure in place to support this project.
