Below is a e-mail I sent to the legislature expressing my outrage about the Rep. Josh Green debacle.
Aloha,
I was deeply outraged that Rep. Waters added language to SB945 HD1 which could force Rep. Josh Green to give being a doctor. When I first read about about this travesty, I immediately felt it was retribution on the part of Rep. Waters against Rep. Green. Especially since these two have butted heads on tort reform the past couple legislative sessions.
Adding more salt to wounds of this debacle is the fact that the Big Island is facing a critical doctor shortage.We cannot afford to lose anymore doctors. Especially emergency room doctors. Rep. Green works 10% of the scheduled hours overall among all the 5 hospitals here on the Big Island.
Thus,I really believe that Rep. Waters failed to see the bigger picture here.What he did will not only harm Rep. Green’s livelihood.But also make the Big Island’s doctor’s crisis more acute.
Hopefully during the House/Senate conference on this bill, this offending language can be stricken.
